TEXAS MEDICAL CENTER IN HOUSTON: GLOBAL HEALTHCARE

Houston, the fourth largest city in the United States is home to the Texas Medical Center (TMC in English), the renowned medical center with 54 member institutions and over 7 million patients a year. The TMC in Houston is home to many of the best hospitals, doctors, researchers, educational institutions and health care providers in the United States.Recognized by the annual survey of U.S. News & World Report “Best Hospitals in America”, the member institutions of the Texas Medical Center are recognized worldwide for the quality of patient care, teaching, research and prevention illness and injury. 

TMC offers over 200 programs to support international faculty, research, professional health care, patients and students. A close collaboration between the Convention and Visitors Bureau Houston (GHCVB for its acronym in English) and Medical Center Texas was a medical exhibition and conference, recently announced to be held annually in Houston. The OCV of Houston is partnering with Messe Dusseldorf Germany, one of the organizers of the world’s largest international business fairs for machinery industries, medical, fashion and entertainment, and the TMC to create its American branch based in Houston, Medical World Americas.

Event Spotlight: Medical World Americas

The Greater Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau announced a new initiative to create an annual medical conference starting in 2014 that will raise the global profile of Houston as a medical hub while generating new revenue for the city. The CVB will produce Medical World Americas in partnership with Messe Dusseldorf, the German organization that produces the world’s largest medical trade show, and the Texas Medical Center.

The Houston-based event will be an opportunity for new products in health care to be introduced in an expo format as well as a multi-track conference program.

INTERNATIONAL POWERHOUSES LAUNCH MEDICAL EXPO AND CONFERENCE IN HOUSTON, TEXAS APRIL 28 – 30, 2014

Texas Medical Center and GHCVB to Bring Human Genome Meeting to Houston in 2016

The Texas Medical Center and Greater Houston Convention & Visitors Bureau (GHCVB) have successfully collaborated to make Houston the Human Genome Meeting’s very first U.S. destination in 2016.

This highly acclaimed medical conference, organized by the Human Genome Organisation (HUGO), is scheduled in June 12-14, 2016 and predicts an attendance of over 1,000 professionals of science and healthcare from all parts of the world, including industry partners, biotech and pharmaceutical companies.
