Dr. Kridel received his B.A. from Stanford University and his M.D. from the University of Cincinnati. He then attended Baylor College of Medicine where he did his residencies in General Surgery for 2 years and then in Otolaryngology (Ear, Nose and Throat), Head and Neck Surgery. In 1981, Dr. Kridel completed a fellowship in Facial Plastic Surgery under the direction of William K. Wright, M.D. He has been a Fellowship Director for the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery since 1985, and he is responsible every year for the training of a Fellow in facial plastic surgery.
He currently serves as Senior Advisor to the Board of Directors of the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He is a clinical professor at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. Dr. Kridel was national President of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS) from 2000-2001. Dr. Kridel is currently a Delegate to the American Medical Association representing facial plastic surgery and is a member of the AMA Council on Science and Public Health, of which he now serves as Chair. He is the Immediate Past President of the Texas Medical Association Foundation and remains on its Board of Directors. He is also on the TexPac Executive Committee. After holding several other leadership positions with the Harris County Medical Society, he was elected President by his peers and he currently serves in this capacity.
