Houston is home to the world-renowned Texas Medical Center and more than 190 life science companies, 132 hospitals and health clinics, and some of the country’s top research facilities. The BioScience Research Collaborative is a 477,000 square-foot facility where scientists and educators from Rice University and the TMC perform leading research that benefits human medicine and health. TMCx is one of the country’s largest life science incubators offering unprecedented clinical access, an all-star network of advisors, and newly renovated office space.
The Greater Houston Partnership invites you to attend the Welcome to Houston Breakfast taking place during the Medical World Americas conference. Join us for a complimentary breakfast to learn more about starting and growing your medical and life science company in Houston featuring Alex Schueller, President of Medical Adhesive Revolution Inc. and a panel of local venture capitalist representatives.
Medical Adhesive Revolution Inc. started in Germany, but recently moved its commercialization activities to Houston after becoming the first international grand prize winner of the Rice Business Plan Competition in 2014. Their product, a polyurethane-based, biodegradable, flexible, nontoxic super glue — can be used to seal wounds of the skin and those inside the body. It is the first fully synthetic surgical adhesive capable of stopping bleeding in seconds and even sealing organs.
